The Capital Area Wellness Coalition (CAWC) is engaged in several regional initiatives related to healthy eating and active living.
5210 Healthy NH
5210 Healthy NH is an obesity prevention initiative working with communities to create environments that support healthy choices. Our goal is to reach communities through multiple settings where children and their families live, learn, work and play.
We focus on strategies that are evidence-based, messaging that is positive and fun, and behavior changes that are supported by policies, systems and environments.
Concord Trail Passport (CTP)
Concord is home to over 80 miles of trails, beautiful views and great opportunities for outdoor recreation. Whether you like to walk, run, bike, snowshoe or cross-country ski, the Concord trail system has something for everyone.
The Concord Trail Passport is an added incentive to take advantage of this great resource. By completing 20 of the 31 Concord trails, you'll reap the rewards of good health plus discounts at local retailers.
The CAWC is working to promote safe walking and biking as a means of transportation in the Capital region. With partners such as the City of Concord and the Central NH Bicycling Coalition, we work with schools, city planners, police and safety educators on tools, events and awareness around human-powered transportation.
We are happy to work with schools and communities on Safe and Active Routes to School, bike safety education or resources to make your environment more accessible to walkers and bikers.
